Identity in Christ

Second Corinthians 5:17 says, “17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” The phrase “in Christ” theological significance. It is used over 300 times in the New Testament, and always refers to a vital union relationship with God. Once that takes place, you become a new creation or as some translations say, you become a “a new creature.”Your relationship with God is not based on what you do in the physical realm, nor the actions of your soul, but on who you are in the spirit based on what He has done for you. That’s a completed work, something that does not fluctuate (change back and forth). You were created in righteousness and true holiness. That is the spirit part of you. You can stand in this identity of who you are in Christ. The old dead man has been done away with and the new alive man has come.
