Pride speaks of the attitude of a man’s heart which determines his direction in life, apart from God. At the heart of wickedness and deception is pride. In the process of the fall of Lucifer, Scripture says (Ezekiel 28:17), “¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor…”

Pride, the exaltation of self, expressed by the “I Will” statements (Isaiah 14:13-14) are the nutrients of the Root of Pride. And you can be sure of this: The root of the tree determines the growth of the tree.

We need to be aware of the signs and symptoms of pride and root them out of the land!
